Are you planning on holding synchronous class sessions, using Web meeting tools like Adobe Connect, Blackboard Collaborate, WebEx, or Microsoft Lync (what platforms am I missing?) Synchronous class meetings are now a necessary component of an online or blended learning program. Online synchronous classes, however, are difficult to do well. The guidelines below might help, and it will be good to hear from you about the best practices you've discovered for Web class meetings.

Do you get asked by edtech companies to provide input on product features and platform enhancements?Perhaps you've been asked to participate in a webinar under NDA, or a meeting during a professional conference such as EDUCAUSE. Maybe you've been asked to sit on a product advisory group, or to participate as a beta user.

Gmail, Google News, Google Talk, AdSense - all the fruits of Google's policy of reserving 20% of the developer's time for self-initiated projects. Great policy, but one that has completely failed to make Google an innovative or disruptive player in higher education. Google's higher ed failures would not be so disturbing if higher ed was not so critical to the company's core mission and belief system."Google’s mission is to organize the world‘s information and make it universally accessible and useful."

Dear fellow Late iPhone / Android adopters (e.g. dumb phone owners).
