A state appeals court has unanimously ruled that the University of Michigan is within its rights to ban weapons on campus, The Detroit Free Press reported.

In the judges’ opinion, it “is constitutionally permissible because laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places are consistent with the Second Amendment.”

The case dates to 2015, when an Ann Arbor resident sued to challenge the university’s ban.
